Propose Strategies for Disseminating EBP project
To promote knowledge regarding my evidence-based project to the target audience, it will be necessary to adopt the most effective dissemination plan. The selection of the most appropriate strategy is based on the dissemination objective and the target audience. In the promotion of EBP fall prevention interventions, my target audience will mainly comprise patients and their family members, registered nurses, and physicians among other healthcare professionals working in the medical-surgical unit (Yoshikawa et al., 2020). As such, this discussion aims at elaborating the dissemination strategies for the promotion of fall prevention interventions to the above-mentioned target audience.
The adopted dissemination strategies for my EBP project will mainly aim to increase the reach of the new practice, motivate stakeholders to adopt the new intervention, and increase the patient’s ability to utilize and apply the new intervention (Brownson et al., 2018). Adequate knowledge regarding fall prevention interventions will be formulated in simple language and shared through fliers to the patients and their families visiting the healthcare facility. For the health professionals, the information will be presented in PowerPoint presentations during continuous medical education conferences and meetings. The project finding will also be disseminated on the organization’s website to inform interested parties about the EBP intervention.
At the internal level, all healthcare professionals working in the medical-surgical unit will be required to read and apprehend the information to promote the appropriate use of the new intervention (Sarver & McNett, 2020). At external levels, medical researchers in addition to healthcare organizations responsible for coming up with clinical practice guidelines will also need to review the proposed practice, to build more evidence supporting the incorporation of fall prevention interventions in clinical practice.
