Discussion: Introduction to the Planning Process
Business processes encompass different activities that ought to be undertaken to ensure effective operational processes. Most business activities involve official communication, letter writing. Developing standardized operational procedures as well as engagement with the employees in various ways. Writing business letters involves consideration of the information that ought to be passed to the audience as well as the format that needs to be adhered to. One of the factors that I would consider to format a business letter appropriately is the font size. Specifically, I would apply Times New Roman or Ariel to ensure that the letter is officially and appropriately formatted.
The legible and accepted font size applied when writing professional business letters is 12. There is also the need for business letters to have appropriate grammar and punctuation. Business letters ought to have an official tone and are used to express the main points in involving different business activities. In official letters, there is the need for the indentation of paragraphs. The alignment should also be done correctly inconsistently with the required format.
The audience of this business letter includes different Business Consultants New Hampshire Business Product (NHBP). While writing the business letters, there is the need to adapt the tone and style to provide a summary that would help the audience make recommendations to achieve different business or organizational goals. Also, I will adapt the tone and style of the business letter by incorporating essential information to fit the document’s purpose and audience. Incorporating important information required as well as adhering or aligning information to suit the audience is necessary for communicating the important information required for a different audience. The business letters also need to be prepared on time to ensure that all elements or aspects of the businesses are incorporated.

The nursing process provides a cornerstone for care. Engaging in assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation helps to move the patient from his or her current state toward a desired outcome. How does this correlate with the strategic planning process?
In this Discussion, you examine similarities and differences between the nursing process and strategic planning. You also consider why it is important for a nurse leader-manager to be familiar with the planning hierarchy and to apply business principles to promote strategic change at the organizational or systems level.
To prepare:
- Review the information related to the nursing process and the strategic planning process addressed in Chapter 4 of the Sare and Ogilvie text and the other Learning Resources. Think about how the nursing process is similar to and different from the strategic planning process.
- Reflect on the value of nurse leader-managers’ contributions to strategic planning, as discussed by Dr. Huston in this week’s media.
- Using the Walden library, identify an example from the literature that demonstrates why it is beneficial for nurse leader-managers to be familiar with the planning hierarchy and why they should be engaged in strategic planning in addition to and in contrast with operational planning.
