Capella University Social Psychological Theory Power Point Presentation Discussion
Question Description
OVERVIEW
This week, you will be creating a PowerPoint presentation in which you apply theories and concepts from social psychology related to prosocial behavior, rejection, and close relationships. You will also be required to apply behavioral ethics and critical thinking concepts.
Note: If you need help with creating a PowerPoint in either Windows or Mac, visit Tools and Resources.
PREPARATION
Complete the Good, Bad, and Loving Case Studies media piece if you haven’t already or if you would like to make changes to the choices you made. Review the case study you want to focus on and the social psychology theory, behavioral ethics concept, and critical thinking concept you want to use in your presentation.
If you didn’t finish your research last week, use the Capella library to find a scholarly journal article related to the social psychology theory you chose. You are required to use two articles in your slideshow. The second article should be one of the following:
Reciprocity: Mahmoodi, A., Bahrami, B., & Mehring, C. (2018). Reciprocity of social influence. Nature Communications, 9(1), 1–9.
Unrequited Love: Bamford, R. (2015). Unrequited: Neurochemical enhancement of love.Cambridge Quarterly of Healthcare Ethics, 24(3), 355–360.
Social Exchange Theory: Fallis, E. E., Rehman, U. S., Woody, E. Z., & Purdon, C. (2016). The longitudinal association of relationship satisfaction and sexual satisfaction in long-term relationships. Journal of Family Psychology, 30(7), 822–831.

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
According to nurse journal the things contributing to nursing shortage are the increasing demand to provide care for an aging population, older nursing workforce approaching retirement, shortage of trained nurse educators and faculty, high turnover rate. Nurses are over worked and underappreciated. Nurses are aging and younger nurses, fresh out of school are not always given a chance as they don’t have experience. Schools have a long waiting list to get into the program and with the pandemic regulations the hospitals must follow to allow students into the hospitals to get clinical experience, makes things hard as well. School is very time consuming, and while in school it’s impossible to have a life, there is a high stress level in nursing school and very high expectations as well.
I currently work as a med/surg float nurse. The float nurses are put into a pool of extra nurses to fill the gaps where the help is needed. This is one way the organization I work for is helping to alleviate the nursing shortage within our hospitals. For a while we had a lot of travel nurses working within the hospitals I work at, but they have slowly transitioned travel nurses out of our hospitals and now rely on the float pool to help.
“Lack of communication, insufficient data sources, and lack of continuity between systems create poor alignment between education and practice which also contributes to nursing shortage” (Whitney, 2018). Health care is not an easy field to work in but with lack of communication between departments and managers this can contribute to frustration. People seem to think that the grass is always greener on the other side but no matter where you work there will always be ups and downs/pros and cons.
Late Policy
The university’s policy on late assignments is 10% penalty PER DAY LATE. This also applies to late DQ replies.
Please communicate with me if you anticipate having to submit an assignment late. I am happy to be flexible, with advance notice. We may be able to work out an extension based on extenuating circumstances.
If you do not communicate with me before submitting an assignment late, the GCU late policy will be in effect.
I do not accept assignments that are two or more weeks late unless we have worked out an extension.
As per policy, no assignments are accepted after the last day of class. Any assignment submitted after midnight on the last day of class will not be accepted for grading.
Communication
Communication is so very important. There are multiple ways to communicate with me:
Questions to Instructor Forum: This is a great place to ask course content or assignment questions. If you have a question, there is a good chance one of your peers does as well. This is a public forum for the class.
Individual Forum: This is a private forum to ask me questions or send me messages. This will be checked at least once every 24 hours.
